Messy church is church but not as you may expect. It meets monthly on the 3rd Sunday from 3pm to 5.00pm, but there are no hard pews, long words or strange smells. Every time it’s different and it’s always fun. There are crafts, games, challenges, bible stories, music and we always end with yummy food. It can get very messy and we’ve had fun with science, challenges and crafts.
Whatever the activity, you and your family are sure to have fun and get to know more about God.
After our craft activities, games and challenges we share in an interactive bible story and often some songs (and maybe even another challenge!)
We end with a meal where we all sit down together and share in conversation about what we’ve been doing in Messy Church. Sometimes it’s high tea with lovely sandwiches, home-made cakes and healthy options too. On other occasions we enjoy hot dogs, bacon rolls, pizza or something else just as yummy. The team caters for all dietary requirements – just let us know when you arrive and we’ll do the rest.
There are activities for all ages. There is an area for little Messys with toys and baby mats. We aim to offer activities that will appeal to all your family so you can enjoy being together and being in church.
In November we’ll be having a “mystery” event when we will need to take part in activities to work out who has stolen Granny Smith’s super duper chocolate sweetie birthday cake. Is it Naughty Norma, Cheeky Charlie, Tommy Trouble or one of the other guests? Come along and join in the fun and help solve the mystery. And we’ll be ending with hot dogs (veggie alternative available) and of course sharing in the chocolate cake (if we find out whodunit and where it is!).
Come and share in the fun – we’d love to meet you. And it’s all free (voluntary donations box available towards cost but there is absolutely no obligation to give anything)
