It is with sadness that we have suspended our normal pattern of worship for the foreseeable future. Please see details on our Coronavirus page Here for links to worship resources on the National Methodist Church Website.
St Andrew’s Methodist Church Herongate sits on the junction of Brentwood and Billericay Roads in Herongate. Visitors often comment on the prayerful atmosphere in the Church and the warm welcome they receive. The building is traditional Essex timber structure enhanced by beautiful stained glass windows.
Sunday Morning Worship is held weekly at 10.30am, with a Communion Service usually on the 3rd Sunday of each month, and there is time for coffee and a chat after the service.
With a congregation drawn from the local village and further afield you can always be assured of a warm welcome.
Herongate Community Garden
Early in 2018 we began to redevelop some disused and overgrown allotment plots at the rear of the church in order to provide a resource for the local community. Designed both for those who would like to garden and those who would just like to come and sit and appreciate the beautiful surroundings, we are now 18 months into the process and have cleared, planned and created four distinct areas to be enjoyed.
In line with growing environmental awareness we have tried to reclaim, reuse and recycle as much as we can and are grateful for the dedicated and enthusiastic team that meets each Saturday morning between 9.00am – 12 Noon to tend and develop the garden and for all those who have given us plants to stock it.
So come and join in – its great fun!

Coronavirus – As a result of current guidelines we have decided to suspend our meeting for the foreseeable future, but will resume sessions as soon as it is wise to do so. In the meantime – keep knitting, it’s a great way to keep yourself occupied and productive during this time. We look forward to when we can meet up again.
Do you enjoy Knitting and Crochet? Why not come and join a friendly group which includes both those with experience and skills and those who want to learn. We meet on Tuesday Mornings in the church hall between 10.00am and 12 Noon.
Materials, needles and a lot of encouragement can be provided – together with good company, tea and biscuits!
