Youth Cell meets at Western Road every Wednesday from 7.30pm to 9.00pm, the Souled Out service normally meets on the second Sunday of the month – check on services times for Billericay Methodist Church below.
There are a number of social events throughout the year but the majority of time at Youth Cell is spent chatting about moral issues, watching Christian-based DVDs and following recommended courses which help our understanding of God and the world at large.
In addition, we occasionally invite guest speakers to talk to us but we always try to have fun in our learning whilst underlining the need to help and support all members of the group, whatever their views.
All young people are welcome here.
Souled Out services were designed with young people in mind and take place at 6.30pm at Western Road every second Sunday of the month.
We try to keep the services informal but at the same time ensuring that there is an emphasis on relevance to our modern society. The services are supported by the minister, David Bagwell, who gives a ten-minute talk in each of the services. The themes have covered issues such as what we really believe in, what inspires and motivates us, what our hopes and dreams are and why actions in our daily lives often speak louder than words. In addition, the music in the service includes contemporary Christian songs led and played by our young people.
We try to create a relaxed, loving environment where people can come, enjoy and join in without feeling threatened. We actively encourage people to give us feedback on services, so that we can change or improve them to enhance our journey with God, at whatever stage each of us may have reached.
Please come and join us.
Once a year, many of our young people visit Soul Survivor, an exciting national five-day event attracting thousands of young people, with times of sung worship, teaching from the Bible and times of prayer ministry. For those in their 20s and 30s there is a similar five-day event called Momentum, with well-known speakers and inspiring worship.
